Simply Elegant

Every bride wants to look and feel beautiful on her wedding day. The challenge is keeping the balance between her personal look and her wedding day look. Many of my clients have never had their hair and makeup done by a professional. Except, for a not so wonderful prom hair style or the overdone makeover they may get at the cosmetic counter. Of course, I am not saying every prom hair is bad or every makeup artist is just selling product. The concern for a bride is looking her best without looking like someone else. Or, having something done she is not happy with.  I don't see hair and makeup as a service done to you but a service done for you. The difference being the experience of the artist. One of the most important factors is listening to the client. Even after getting inspirational photo's, and discussing her day to day style, having a open dialogue is essential. Even if she is used to wearing makeup and shows you inspirational photo's of glammed up makeup, it's important to work your way toward the look and ask what her comfort level is along the way. It is easier to add more makeup then to take it away. The reverse is also true. A bride can show very light makeup application in her inspirational photo's, but may want to bump it up based again on her comfort level. Hair also needs the same attention to detail. Even after the bridal preview(trial) is done, notes are taken, and photo's done for visual reference on wedding day, it's still important to be flexible and modify anything the bride may request. The greatest rewards for me is seeing how beautiful she looks and seeing her radiate how beautiful she feels.
